Skate Society

Skate

Whether you are a professional speed skater or you just want to try out hockey for the first time SkateSoc is the place for you. Skate society is a group of friendly, like-minded skaters/bladers here to help you stop looking like Bambi on wheels or to improve the skills you already have.

We hold weekly lessons with numerous experienced skaters who are there to lend a hand or mess around with in a game of street hockey. These Wednesday afternoon lessons in front of the Albert Memorial can entail anything from learning to stop, to slalom or play hockey and speed skating. Skate society also has regular indoor roller hockey sessions in Wilson House Sports Hall and is always looking for new players whether you’re a seasoned veteran or wobbly fresher.

In addition to all this we also take part in skating activities including cross London skates, night skates and will enter more challenging events like the skate marathon for those who want to take part. The hockey team also organises matches throughout the year against other university teams. If this sounds good to you, join us!
