Years of New Labour government have brought us privatisation and war. The racist agendas of the BNP (British National Party) are gaining popularity as people look for a scapegoat for the problems they are facing.
Respect doesn’t think that a Conservative or Lib Dem government will be any better! That’s why we provide a left wing alternative to New labour. We were founded on the anti-war movement that led to the largest demonstrations ever seen in Britain. The Imperial Student Respect society holds meetings with speakers and film showings on issues such as climate change, racism and islamophobia. We are also involved in campaigns on campus and attend outside events such as NUS conference.
