Racing
This is the club that encompasses Imperial College’s Formula Student racing team. Formula Student is an international event in which engineering students from the world’s top technical colleges compete in the design and manufacture of a small single seat racing car.
This year we are aiming to improve on last year’s standing of 4th overall within the UK to win both the 2006 Class 1 (200) and Class 2 competitions. The club principally consists of third and fourth year Mechanical Engineering students who build the car as part of their major projects, however, the club is open to anyone with an enthusiasm for engineering and formula racing. There are also plenty of opportunities for first and second years to get involved with the manufacture of components, fundraising and even having a drive!
