The main aim of ICU Punjabi Society is to promote awareness, education and preservation of Punjabi culture whilst making it universally accessible to all students of all backgrounds.

Throughout the year, PunjabiSoc organises various events including our highly successful “Groundshaker” clubbing nights, held in prestigious venues around the West End featuring mainstream Bhangra artists. Believe it or not, Punjabi’s do participate in other activities besides partying; we also run regular events such as day-trips, ice skating, film nights and even free weekly Dhol and Punjabi language lessons.

Following the success of PunjabiSoc’s participation in other talent shows, this year we launch our own event, “The Bhangra Showdown” to be held on 1st December at the Millennium Dome, in aid of WaterAid and Saikripa. As the highlight of the PunjabiSoc calendar, TBS promises to be one of the largest student events in the country with teams from all over the UK competing.

Ultimately, our society’s goal is to celebrate the vibrancy and beauty of Punjabi culture whilst raising money for those who have not been blessed with the opportunities we have.
