Physoc
Physoc is the society for physicists at Imperial, and we aim to hold fun and interesting events for our members and improve the experience of being a student in the department.
The society is one of the largest in the country with over 800 members, including undergraduates and postgraduates. A free newsletter is produced every term which is used to highlight upcoming events run by Physoc, look at what's been happening in and around the department and run opinion polls and competitions. Physoc arranges guest lectures throughout the year, on current research, career development, as well as more light-hearted subjects such as “The Physics of Chocolate”.
In addition, trips are organised to international conferences and research centres, as well as BBQs, an Outreach Programme, a Freshers’ event, and networking events with graduate-seeking companies. Non-physicists are free to join the society as well. All of this for no membership fee!
