Kendo
Kendo is a sport is based on the art of Japanese swordsmanship. This ancient martial art was passed down through centuries of civil strife between the ruling Samurai classes of medieval Japan.
Kendo players wear tough body armour and use bamboo swords instead of the steel blades used in ancient times. Matches are won or lost based on clean technique, dedication and fighting spirit.
Imperial College Kendo Club has a long and glorious history including winning the 2008 university championships. The club is very friendly and as a member, you will get the chance to attend various social events and exciting kendo tournaments (as if wearing armour and wielding a sword wasn’t exciting enough…).
