Handball

The ICU Handball Club deal with the sport Handball, mostly played in the Scandinavian countries, France, Germany and Eastern Europe.

It is a very fast sport played on a 40m by 20m court. The aim is to score as many goals as possible whilst keeping the other team from doing so. As the name suggests it is played with your hands and there are 14 people on the pitch, 2 goalies and the rest have to attack as well as defend, unlike in football.

Playing Handball means you run fast, you run a lot and you are often locked with other people attacking or defending. We are currently playing in the 2nd division of the English Handball Association League and will go on tournaments both in England and in the rest of Europe. Last year we have been to Manchester and Lyon, France, both very successful trips sporting- and fun-wise. All in all, going out after training and enjoying a night out together is as important to us as playing a good game.
