Environmental
ESoc’s activities over the past few years have ranged from trips away to cider breweries, organic farms, and Cornwall to visits to beaches, caves, and the Eden Project. We also hold BBQ’s by the pond in our section of the ‘secret garden’, which is maintained by members.
The past three years have also seen the successful ‘Green Week’ organised by the society, with the support of the Union, researchers, professors and other organisations. Last year over 1300 signatures from the student body helped us to get the Union to pass an Environmental Policy for the first time in its history. ESoc was established by students who were concerned about the environment in the context of social, cultural, political and economic issues. We are a very sociable group, providing the opportunity for like-minded people to come together
