Dance Company
As well as offering weekly classes of ballet, tap and contemporary dance for all abilities, this club offers regular guest teaching classes with professionals from places like The Royal School of Dance. Jazz workshops are also occasionally run to give a ‘taster’ of a different style of dance. There are numerous opportunities to perform in annual events such as East Meets West as well as other campus events.
Last year we successfully collaborated with Imperial College Symphony Orchestra to produce a unique and dynamic piece involving live music and the performing arts. One of the highlights of the dance company's year is the competition season where choreographed routines are polished to compete against other university dance clubs. Last year the club did very well, scooping trophies at both the Loughborough Dance Competition and the Edinburgh Dance-Off. The competitions are always a fantastic way of getting more involved with club life and getting to know other members.
The club also runs "Schools Tour" which is held with Imperial Volunteering Centre. Members offer workshops and taster sessions for children in London schools teaching them exciting dance routines and developing their creativity through choreography.
