Nominations open for Rector's Pastoral Care awards
Friday 05 Jun 2009

Graduation

Last year saw the introduction of a new Rector's Award, designed to recognise staff who have shown excellence in Pastoral Care. With nominations welcomed from both students and staff, this Award provides students with the perfect opportunity to recognise staff who really have made a positive contribution to their time at Imperial through providing outstanding student support.

Pastoral care can be provided in many ways by many different staff. Some academic and research staff have a defined pastoral role, for example as a personal tutor, senior tutor or hall warden. Staff working in undergraduate and postgraduate offices in academic departments and divisions can also provide valuable guidance and advice, and many other staff across College have roles in supporting students.

Up to five awards will be made, including two fellowships which will be presented by the Rector at the Graduation Ceremony on Commemoration Day, 21 October 2009.

How do I nominate someone?

If you are interested in recognising an individual's contribution please email Hannah for more details and a nomination form. The nomination should provide a comprehensive account of the special qualities and accomplishments that warrant consideration, and should be returned by the 12th of June.

The final decision will be made by a College panel.
