The Union Bar

The Union Bar is the Union’s wood panelled bar and is renowned on campus and locally for its selection of real ales and guest beers. In the last year this bar has served over 200 different guest ales! It’s the place to go for a quiet drink and a game of darts with friends.

The bar is the home to many of the Union’s most antiquated and valued trophies and plaques. It also houses our collection of pewter tankards, each of which is engraved with the names of past holders of the Union’s student officer posts, from club secretaries to sports personalities all the way up to the Sabbatical Officers of the Union. A section is also dedicated to the time honoured old boys of the Union.

The Union Bar is normally small, quiet and intimate except for Wednesday nights after match day when the Union’s sports teams pour into the establishment; our clubs carry pride and tradition and for them there is no better place to celebrate and sing!
