APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED FOR OUR CASUAL STAFF RECRUITMENT WEEK.

Apply now for your chance to attend our Casual Staff Recruitment Week between Tuesday 28 September and Friday 1 October.

There are plenty of opportunities for casual work in the Union. With different pay rates and shifts available at all times of the day, there is sure to be a position that fits in with your studies.

This year we are taking applications online and we will then contact you if you have been invited to attend our recruitment week. We will inform successful applicants no later that Wednesday 22 September.

I want to work for the Union, how do I go about getting a job?

• Applications are now closed. There will be more opportunities later in the year.

What do I need to bring with me to the Casual Staff Recruitment Week if I'm invited?

• Bring along your passport and National Insurance card.

What if I don't have a National Insurance Number?

I can’t make the dates for the Casual Staff Recruitment Week; can I still apply for a job at the Union?

• You can apply for part-time work all year round. Just visit the Union Reception on Level 2 of the Union building and they will be able to help you or keep checking imperialcollegeunion.org/jobs. As soon as positions become available you will be informed.

Why is the Casual Staff Recruitment held before term starts and before freshers can move into halls?

• We hold the Casual Staff Recruitment Week before Welcome Week since we have a lot of vacancies available at the beginning of each academic year. The Day has to be held before term starts since the Union is far too busy when students arrive back for the start of term.

If I work for Union will I have to work every single week and during the holidays?

• Student Staff at ICU are casual staff so only work when they want to. You sign up to shifts in advance. You are not contracted to work any specific hours. You don't have to work during the holidays if you don’t want to.

How much does each position get paid?

• Rates of pay: There are different rates for different jobs. However all are approximately £5.93 an hour or more.

Are postgraduates able to work at the Union?

• All IC students are able to work for the Union, 1st years, postgraduates, anyone!
