It's election time again! Nominations are now open for the Sabbatical Elections 2010. Any full member of the Union can stand for election, this is your opportunity to make a difference to campus life and leave your mark on Imperial College Union.
The most important part of Imperial College Union's democratic process is the yearly election of our Sabbatical team. Our elections mini-site aims to help you understand the process of standing and voting in these elections.
• Union President
• Deputy President (Clubs & Societies)
• Deputy President (Education)
• Deputy President (Finance & Services)
• Deputy President (Welfare)
• Felix Editor
• 4 x Student Trustees
Standing for one of these roles is not a decision to make lightly, but if you are successful you will be rewarded with a fantastic and unique opportunity. You will take on a role that is different with every day: you could be planning the lay out of the Union’s new bars, meeting with senior members of College, schmoozing with famous figures such as Boris Johnson and Jo Whiley, organising student social events and bar nights, campaigning for student rights, lunching with the Rector or sniffing out news stories as Felix Editor. These are roles that require you to demonstrate confident leadership abilities, to take the initiative and make big decisions with important repercussions, but they will give you the opportunity to develop your skill set and learn to deal with challenging situations.
