Motor (RSM)

Clementine

RSM Motor Club looks after a very special old truck called Clementine (or Clem for short). Clem is a 1926 Morris T Type truck which was bought by the College in 1960, as a replacement for the original RSM mascot, a steam roller! Originally, Clem belonged to the Courage Estate (yes, the brewers!) and she still frequently finds her way to licensed premises around London, and even the odd chippy!

Every year Clem participates in the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society’s London to Brighton Run. In fact, its so much fun that Clem does it again in November to accompany Bo’ (The Union’s 1902 veteran car) on the famous Veteran Car Club run!

Clem will be 81 this academic year and unsurprisingly needs regular maintenance. This is often done on Wednesday afternoons and at weekends in Clem’s garage. It is an excellent way to learn the basics of how a vehicle works. Everyone is welcome!
