The ICU Malaysian Society plays an important role in bringing Malaysians together in addition to introducing the Malaysian identity and culture to the international community in Imperial College.
Over the year, many events are organized not only to cater to the needs of Malaysian students, but also to reach out to the Imperial community about our vibrant Malaysian culture. To name one, Freshers' Camp is organized before the start of term to prepare new students embarking on the exciting journey of studying in the UK. Events such as the Malaysian Fair also showcase many aspects of the Malaysian lifestyle incorporating ethic dresses exhibits, handicraft display and traditional food.
The highlight of all is the Malaysian Night, a student-run production presenting cultural performances and a wide array of our very own members' talents. It has gained the reputation of being one of the best Malaysian Nights drawing a diverse audience from all around UK.
The society also maintains strong ties with other overseas students clubs both within and outside Imperial. We were even invited to perform Dikir Barat, a traditional Malay musical form, for Imperial's very own International Night in February 2011. Join us, and enjoy a truly Asian experience with Imperial College Union Malaysian Society.
