Kung Fu

ic Kung Fu logo
The IC Kung Fu club practices the Wu Shu Kwan style, a westernised form of classical Chinese martial arts, similar to western kickboxing.

The training provides a solid base of physical fitness and conditioning coupled with an effective fighting ability. The classes are structured in the same way each week and include cardiovascular exercise, stretching, basic techniques, forms and sparring practice. When free sparring you will be paired with a senior belt, who will help you to progress quickly and safely from zero fighting ability to full contact sparring.

ic Kung Fu Linework 0708Training is on Saturdays (4-6 pm) and Sundays (6-8 pm) in the Ethos sports center's Energia Studio. If you are interested, just turn up in loose clothing (and bring your student ID to be let in). Classes are open to everyone from beginner to black belt and we’ll even give you the first lesson free! For members of the club, there's an additional fitness session to complement basic training and teach extra sparring techniques.

If you have any questions feel free to contact the committee. Also, get in touch with the vice president to have yourself added onto the mailing list for regular updates on training, gradings and events.
