Over the course of its long and impressive history, Muay Thai Kickboxing has evolved and become one of the most dynamic and beautiful sports around today. Focusing on contact Kickboxing styles that utilise the knees, elbows, shins and fists, Muay Thai is an extremely efficient and effective form of combat.

Whether you want to become a fighter, increase your self-confidence, get fit or improve your physique Thai Kickboxing is the sport for you. The beauty is that Kickboxing can be practised by anyone – big or small, male or female, stocky or skinny. All you need is determination, an open mind and we’ll supply the rest.

The committee consists of a small number of enthusiasts who train in a safe, friendly atmosphere. The club also has many social events throughout the year including going to Muay Thai events in London. Training sessions take place on Wednesdays from 1.30pm-4pm. There will also be training sessions on Sundays with details to be announced.

Whatever your level ( complete beginner to current fighter ), you are welcome to join us ANY TIME of the year!

What should I bring to the session ?
We provide gloves, pads and shin guards. You only need to bring a T-shirt and shorts/track suit bottom.We recommend that you also bring a bottle of water.

When can I come?

We have two sessions a week, one on Wednesdays and one on Sundays.
Here is the format :

  • Wednesday sessions:
    Level : All levels : Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
    Time : 1.30pm until 4pm
    Location : Union gym (3rd floor of Union Building)
    Instructor : Kru David or/and Ash or Martin.
    Cost : £3 all year long (to be paid in cash at the end of each session. Please bring coins or small bills).

Our first official session for the academic year 2011/12 will be held on Wednesday 12th of October 2011 at 1.30pm in the Union gym.

This lesson is open to everyone and taught by one of our instructors. We always start with warm up, then we usually do some pad works in pairs and move on to sparring towards the end of the lesson. We always have 15 minutes of intense fitness followed by some cool down exercises.

  • Sunday sessions:
    Level: All levels
    Time: 6pm until 8pm
    Location: Junior Common Room (JCR) in Sherfield Building
    Cost: £3

Memberships can be bought in the "shop" section. If you want to come regularly it is essential and absolutely require to buy the membership since it covers your insurance.
