The German Society is the social hub for all those interested in German culture and language. Whether you’re a native speaker or not, there are lots of reasons to join:
Social Networking & Culture - We organise pub nights, German film outings, exhibitions, political lectures and many other events relevant to German culture. Last year saw the societies of Cambridge, LSE and Imperial get together in Oxford for a formal dinner, and we are working towards a similar event again this year.
Studying German - Whether you’re planning on spending an entire year in a German speaking country as a part of your degree or simply want to brush up your language skills, the most efficient way to practice is to come along to one of our socials and experience the real thing. We’ve all been in your shoes and we’ll do our best to make you comfortable.
Unique career opportunities - We maintain relations with leading companies in Germany and the UK who advertise internships, jobs and other opportunities to our members that you won’t be offered anywhere else.
Science Tuition Programme - If you’re a native German speaker, we can help you become a (paid) science tutor for an Abitur student at the Deutsche Schule London. To learn more, contact us via the link above.
