Exploration
ExploSoc members meet the world’s top explorers and listen to their fascinating stories. The society organises visits to a range of educational and recreational lectures throughout London and arranges for well-known speakers to come in and talk to members about their expeditions.
The society is a forum for ideas, shared experiences, advice and trip planning. So whether you hold a distant desire for deserts or a passion for Peru, come to a meeting and get involved. Recent expeditions have included kayaking in Canada, a ski-traverse of Greenland, bridge building in Africa, new routing in Kenya and first ascents in India, Bolivia and Tibet.
ExploSoc doesn’t run its own expeditions, but it inspires and encourages you to. Imperial College has its own Exploration Committee which considers expedition proposals. Approval and financial support from the Committee is a great starting point for any expedition and ensures a good chance of success.
