So what kind of society are we?

Nothing can quite possibly beat the beauty of artistic scripture nor the mesmerising movements of a calligraphy master’s brush strokes. We at the Calligraphy Society teach people of all levels the history, techniques and meaning behind calligraphy (not the random gibberish you see on tattoos and T-shirts!). This includes classes and workshops where traditional writing materials are provided for students to experience real calligraphy as practiced thousands of years ago.

Worried that you cannot read anything you are writing? No problem! Our instructors are usually qualified language teachers as well. Calligraphy is not only fun but educational as well since writing is the quickest method of learning unfamiliar scripts.

We have many connections outside of Imperial in London making us one of the most authentic University calligraphy clubs in the country.

Currently we are focused on Arabic&Persian and Oriental calligraphy but are looking to introduce English calligraphy and more! If you are interested in anything calligraphy related, come and stop by our weekly classes for a chat and become entranced by the wonderful world of calligraphy.
