Waterpolo (Medics)
Medics Water Polo – notoriously known as the drinking team with a water polo problem! We are a light hearted fun-loving bunch of people who like to get wet and play with balls.
The rules are simple; 7 players per team, unlimited substitutions, 4 quarters of 7 mins each. You can only use one hand (apart from goalie) and no touching the floor! Training occurs once or twice a week (Mondays 9pm at CX pool and Wednesdays 8pm at St Mary’s Pool) and we meet regularly each term for team socials, including our annual tour to somewhere fun, where there is no risk of us bumping into anyone we know.
We mostly play in ULU league matches, with the odd fun friendly every now and again including the exciting annual students vs consultants match! For our more serious players there is the opportunity to compete in BUSA with the ULU team. Our team is mixed and welcomes everyone from beginners to pros and freshers to alumni; you only need to know how to swim.
