The top floor of the Union Building is home to four full-size excellent-quality snooker tables. Members can play at any time between 9 am and 11 pm every day, including weekends and throughout the summer.
We organise numerous competitions with cash prizes on offer, including our Freshers' Tournament, one-frame Pot Black knockouts and our biggest event, the Internal League, catering for players of all abilities. You can also play some American and English pool by joining us for our weekly sessions at the local Rileys on a Wednesday afternoon.
New for this year, we will be holding two club nights a week. On a Tuesday, you will have the opportunity to socialise with other members, compete in friendly competitions or hone your skills during our committee-led beginners' coaching sessions; Thursday evenings are reserved for those wishing to improve their game under the guidance of a professional coach.
If you are good enough, you may be picked to play for one of our snooker or pool teams and compete at a number of national tournaments, culminating in the season-ending BUCS Snooker Championships, where we are the two-time defending Team Trophy champions! It doesn't matter if you have never picked up a cue or are already an experienced player, all snooker enthusiasts are welcome at our club.
With a yearly membership fee of just £25 and no additional playing costs, you would be foolish not to join us! For more information about the club, our events and how to join, please visit our website: www.union.ic.ac.uk/snooker.
