London Doctors' Orchestra and Choir
The London Doctors’ Orchestra and Choir, newly created by alumni of Imperial College School of Medicine, caters for busy healthcare professionals by meeting for monthly rehearsals in a relaxed atmosphere. Each year we will perform two concerts of varied and stimulating repertoire.
The first concert from this exciting ensemble will be on Saturday 20th February 2010 at Holy Trinity Church, Prince Consort Road, London SW7 2BA.
The programme of this first concert will include:
- Brahms' 'St. Anthony Chorale' Variations
- Haydn's 'St. Nicholas' Mass
- Mozart's Symphony no. 40.
Tickets are £7 (£4 students/concessions) and are available in advance from info@londondoc.org.uk or on the door. Doors will open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. The concert will be in aid of COSMIC, a charity which supports the paediatric intensive-care unit at St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington.
As a new group we are rapidly expanding and very much welcome new members, whatever your instrument or voice! Membership is currently free and open not only to doctors, but to all NHS staff who would like to perform in a group which meets regularly, but cannot afford the time to commit to weekly rehearsals.
