The IC Kung Fu club practices the Wu Shu Kwan style, a westernised form of classical Chinese martial arts, similar to western kickboxing.

The training provides a solid base of physical fitness and conditioning coupled with an effective fighting ability as well as self-defence techniques. The classes are structured in the same way each week and include cardiovascular exercise, stretching, basic techniques, forms and sparring practice.

When free sparring you will be paired with a senior belt, who will help you to progress quickly and safely from zero fighting ability to full contact sparring.

ic Kung Fu Linework 0708Training is on Saturdays 5-7 pm in the Union Gym and Sundays 430-630pm in the Union Dining Hall on the 3rd and 1st Floor of the Union Building respectively, with two of the most experienced instructors within Wu Shu Kwan. Classes are open to everyone from complete beginner to black belt and we'll even give you the first lesson free! If you're interested, just turn up in loose clothing.

For members of the club, there's an additional fitness session to complement basic training and teach extra sparring techniques.
