Indian
The Indian Society is the largest and most flourishing multicultural society at Imperial, always endeavouring to promote and encourage an awareness of the various magnificent aspects of Indian Culture to both Indians and non-Indians alike.
We are best known for our annual charity variety show – East Meets West, one of the largest productions organised by an ICU society, in which the various talents of Imperial students are showcased. It was held at the prestigious Shaftesbury Theatre last February.
On top of this we have a thriving India Week in the beginning of the first term which is extremely popular amongst students, with large groups attending all events every day throughout the week. We have also organised a number of trips, including weekends in Paris, Amsterdam, and day trips to Alton Towers.
On a more regular basis, we show recently released Hindi films as well as comedy nights and organise a number of social and sporting events. These include our incredibly popular clubbing nights, cricket matches against other societies, cultural days, henna nights, classical dance, music recitals and cookery classes to name a few events from a busy and varied calendar.
