Ice Hockey
Ice Hockey is an intense, fast paced and skilful sport requiring fitness, agility, determination and team work. Don’t possess any of these traits? Don’t worry Imperial Devils caters for both complete novices as well as having a team for more experienced players.
All are welcome to come and join us at the appropriate level. Complete beginners require no previous skating ability to be able to participate as we can teach you and loan equipment is also available. Over the training sessions this will progress to improve skating technique, introduce stick handling and puck control, tackling, shooting and then game play and positioning. The pinnacle of the season is competition in the National Championships Tier III.
For players with prior experience Imperial Devils have a team currently playing in the Southern League of British Universities Division 2. Training sessions every week look to improve teamwork, skill and general gameplay with matches being organised throughout the first 2 terms. The first team also compete in the National championships at the end of the season at the Tier II level.
