Fellwanderers

The Fellwanderers are the hiking club of Imperial. We organise weekend trips and Sunday walks throughout the year to the most stunning places in the UK.

Weekend trips include Snowdonia, the Lake District, Peak District, and Dartmoor where we stay in bunkhouses or village halls after driving up on the Friday night. Use of the Union minibuses means we can travel around easily and get two full days of walking in every trip. Sunday walks are pleasant and relaxing, just wandering in the countryside close to London. A weekend trip is followed by a Sunday walk, so there is a trip every weekend of term!

During the holidays we venture further both in the UK and Europe. Recent trips have included the Scottish Highlands, trekking in the Alps and Norway.

The club also has an active social side. We meet every Tuesday for free lunch in the Union to discuss future trips and catch up with friends. There is a big social every fortnight, such as club bar-nights where we buy a keg for members, group meals at restaurants, and of course the legendary Feuerzangenbowle

Join us if you want to get out of London and experience the mountains, hills, fells and dales of Britain in all types of weather, knowing you can relax in the pub afterwards with your friends. Our hiking trips have a huge mixture of experienced and novice walkers on them, so whatever your level of experience you can take part.
